Bounty Advert (2009)

‘Carry on Cleaning’ with Bounty

First Observations:

  • Overall dated style, but with Computer Generated Images of recent footage embedded throughout the text.
  • Font is yellow and circus-like, appears to mimic the same text as the iconic ‘Carry on’ films.
  • Two middle aged men dressed as women called ‘Brenda and Audrey’.
  • Random food throwing and spilling.
  • Voice over with London/cockney accent, plus comical and saxophone based audio track. Sound effects throughout inc. laughter, splats and magical glistens.
  • Huge, messy ‘food-fight’ scene to close.

First qew questions that spring to mind:

  • Why did Bounty Kitchen Roll choose this theme for their advertisement campaign?
  • When where the ‘Carry On’ films introduced and popularized?
  • What are the main links to the films that Bounty has also adopted?
  • Why are the men dressed as women, and why are they late?
  • Why are the other characters shown in close up shots also?
